Bhangarh (Devanagari: เค ญ เค พ เค จ เค - เค ข เค ผ) is a ruined town in Alwar district of Rajasthan state, India, famous for its historical ruins. Bhangarh is at the edge of the Sariska Tiger Reserve. Rumored to be haunted places, in fact, are the ruins of an ancient fort area is a popular destination for holiday weekends. It is said that the rumors that haunt started by local villagers who frighten visitors and their loot.
Bhangarh is somewhere between Delhi and Jaipur in Rajasthan state of India known for the ruins. Bhangarh also a pre-historic sites.
The most remarkable buildings are the temples of Gopinath, Shiva (Someshwar), Mangla Devi and Keshava Rai. Other buildings include the shops along the main road, some of the havelis, mosques and palaces. The palace is protected by two forts in the valley. The city is separated from the plain to the fort with five gates.
The city was founded in 1573 (VS 1631) during the reign of King Animesh Singh as the residence of Bhilai Madhosingh second son, me, younger brother of Emperor Akbar's general Man Singh I. Madhosingh participated in many campaigns with his father and brother. The next ruler was his son Chhatar Bhangarh Singh, after whose death Bhangarh slowly declining. When the Mughal Empire became weak after the death of Aurangzeb, Jai Singh II Bhangarh attached to the country by force in 1720. After this Bhangarh reduced in population, and starvation in 1783 (VS 1840) the city remains uninhabited.
