City of Pienza, Italy

Pienza is a small town in the province of Siena, Tuscany, Italy. The city is the hometown of a Renaissance humanist who later named Pope Pius II. The city is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Pienza was built between the years 1459-1462 in the village of Corsignano, Enea Silvio Piccolomini where born. The city was built by the Florentine architect Bernardo Gambarelli called (Bernardo Rossellino) who may be working with the humanist and architect Leon Battista Alberti, although there is no document to prove its truth.
Famous buildings in the city, Piazza Pio II is a trapezoid-shaped piazza. The main building, Palazzo Piccolomini, located on the west side. Behind the church there is a loggia. Together with the Val d'Orcia, Pienza registered in UNESCO World Heritage.
